The honey-brown Malfoy had always considered herself something of a whirlwind; a menace in stilettos, with a walk that clipped and a smile that sliced. Alcyone liked to fancy herself a lot of things, really, though she would admit in her weaker moments that she was also quite dramatic. That had been a hard truth drilled into her by Caelum in the sunroom at the manor, golden rays warming their skin as she recounted stories with too much poetic flair for Caelum to stop himself from groaning and ditching a book at her head. "So dramatic!" He had cried, too often in their youth for it to even be an insult anymore. Now, he'd utter it with a fond smirk, like the smug little bastard that he was, because he knew she wouldn't even pretend otherwise.

Alcyone huffed. She was, in spite of her dramatic tendencies, quite the whirlwind though, and it showed in the way she fluttered into the girls dormitories as if she owned the place. That kind of behaviour had won her enemies over time, and tended to rub people the wrong way, but others found it amusing; and by extension, her. Those who knew her well, she liked to think, viewed her nature as endearing. "Jay!" Alcy called out, picking her way through the common room of Jay's dorm area and hovering by the steps up to her room. There was no one here, which wasn't useful to her, because it could mean that her best friend and her own personal drop of sunshine might not be accessible to her. "Jay, come love me," she called again, leaning against the banister and curling her thin fingers around it.  

Alcyone wasn't known for her patience, but she managed to hold off storming into Jay's room and throwing a rather dramatic, staged fit. It would mostly be in jest, but there was a little truth in every lie, wasn't there? Placing her hand back on the banister after she'd finished inspecting her nails for dirt, her gaze flicked back up to the doorway. She could hear two feet padding over the floor, and her lips lifted with a bright smile. What could she help it, Alcyone adored Jaycie Simple, she was always excited to see her! And to think, she'd first befriended Jaycie simply because she'd thought she was too pretty to be that lonely. Alcyone could be quite vain sometimes, even she knew that, but she liked to think she wasn't as superficial as she had once been. She still prided herself in looks, appearances, and delighted in having attractive friends, but, she did prefer the company of good people over pretty ones. 

"Darling, did I wake you?" She exclaimed when Jaycie's sleep-rumpled figure peeked around the doorway and greeted her in that soft way only Jaycie could manage to make endearing. She watched as Jaycie moved sluggishly down the stairs, sun-dipped locks swaying precariously around her head. Oh, if only Alcy could look that radiant after only just waking! Even in her baggy clothes, with crease lines from her pillow on her cheek, and the slightest sludge of mascara under her eyes, Jaycie still managed to look quite adorable. The moment Jay inched close enough, Alcy slung an arm around her shoulders and tucked her in against her side, smiling pleasantly at her friend. "Only 3. The day is young!" She giggled, only jesting, of course. She didn't particularly feel like doing anything other than curling up with Jay and gossiping about things, whilst the lovely girl humoured her.

Alcy's grin was borderline manic when Jaycie yawned, the sound more of a snuffle than anything else. A cute little snuffle, one that would be better suited on a cuddly panda bear or... Something. With amusement, Alcyone marvelled over the fact that Jaycie wasn't too far from being some kind of cuddly animal, the likeness between her and a bear stemming from how cute both animals were. Alcyone liked to picture Jaycie as a caramel-coated kitten, always skulking in the shadows and disappearing out the corner of stranger's eyes, but emerging all cuddly and affectionate for those she counted amongst her closest friends. Not to brag, but Alcyone knew that "closest friends" referred to herself. Alcyone didn't take delight in being Jay's only friend, but instead felt a surge of awe-struck honour over the fact that sweet, shy Jaycie Simple trusted her. It was a greater inflation to her ego than any compliment towards her appearance - and Merlin knew how Alcyone delighted in compliments.

"Yes please! You know how I like it." Jaycie wasn't much of a home-maker, but her hot chocolate's were excellent - perfected, like a fine art. "Have you started our potions homework?" The brunet asked, dropped her arm from Jay's shoulders to curl around her waist and tuck her head into the crook of Jay's neck, breathing in that ever-present scent of cinnamon and sugar. Alcy often clung to Jay whilst she wandered around making hot chocolate, creating quite the nuisance but never seeming to annoy or frustrate Jay. Cuddles were important, after all, and Jay had come to recognise that over their years as friends.
