Mycroft was the second child, and lovingly called the "Spare". The oldest brother was Sherringford Holmes, and ten years later, he was born. Both boys were known to be incredibly advanced for their age, the elder being gifted in DADA, the and Mycroft gifted in potions. Sherringford graduated and immediately took to work in the Ministry taking on site jobs. It was during one of those rebellions by muggleborns that he was killed at the age of twenty. Mycroft remembers his brother well, he had to admit that despite the fact that his brother was tough around him, he did have the attachment. When he did die, he mourned, for a while. Even when entering school, he was embittered and would avoid anyone that was not pureblood because of association. Slytherin was the house chosen for him, and he did not question it at all. It was until his third year where he came out of his shell. He had a few friends, but never was he that interested in anything other than his books. His first girlfriend was in his sixth year, Molly Sheeran and she was it lasted until his graduation. Both parted ways, his need to learn more and go to work, deterred her ideals of having a family right away. He didn't mind, relieved to have erased the ideas of marriage from his parent's head.
After graduating, he was like many and was unsure as to what to do. He immediately went into the ministry, his family name was what helped him. He immediately began to work as an Auror, taking a few years to feel it out and found his passion. It was until Headmaster Ashworth asked him to teach Potions. He always wanted to keep with potions and now he teaches his first year.
