Autumn was a very beautiful season. The air was cool - not cold - and made the atmosphere very romantic, what with all the falling leaves of multiple colours. That was partially why Cordelai hated it; it was all so... cliche. But it was undeniably beautiful, and for that, autumn was probably her favourite season.
For reasons she couldn't quite understand, she had woken up with only one thing on her mind: going to the beach. It wasn't exactly the right weather for it, with the gentle wind making it too cold to actually swim, but when Cordelai wanted something, she got it, and so later that afternoon, when the sun would be the warmest, she found herself changing into a bikini, wearing a pair of shorts over the bottom for some decency. A single wrap the only thing to cover her body, and a towel packed alongside some simple snacks in a basket, she apparated herself to Laguna Beach.
Cordelai found a quiet spot to set up her things before taking off her wrap and heading for the water. It was refreshing, colder than she normally liked but decent enough, and she allowed herself to be submerged for a few moments. When under like that, it was almost therapeutic, as though nothing else mattered except the swishing of waves. If she could hold her breath forever, this was probably where she'd stay, although the salt that stuck to her skin after a swim always annoyed her; it damaged her hair.
Emerging, she moved back to the shallow part, sitting down so that the water reached up to just above her chest and relaxing. It had been a good idea to come to the beach after all.
