| Subject: Creature Index Mon Apr 07, 2014 2:34 am | |
| Similarly to the Pureblood index, we wanted to make a creature index, to show what families exist within each creature category. These are assumed to be part of the older and more powerful clans/packs. Below is the application, make sure to put as much information as possible, and if you are open to connecting families. If you like, be creative when it comes to creatures. For, as of now, there are no limits to how many we can have. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message the Admin team. You must complete your character's application, and have it accepted by an admin/mod, before your creature history will be accepted.
Cut and paste the code below in a reply. It will either be added to the creature list, or you will be contacted by an Admin.Selkie- Calderson's:
Family Crest: N/A Family History: Selkies are a form of mermaids; they take the form of seals and can shapeshift into humans. There are four clans surrounding the Faroe Islands; William descends from the Calder Clan. The legend of the Faroe Islands that is most well known speaking of the Calder Clan is that of Kópakonan; the Seal Woman. It is the story of how a man upon seeing a beautiful seal woman walk on the shores of the Kalsoy Island, stole her seal skin so that he may make her his wife. He kept the seal skin locked away for many years, forcing her to bear his human children and live a miserable life. One day before leaving for the village, he left the key out and she returned to the sea. Later the villagers of the Kalsoy Island decided to hunt seals, the Kópokonan warned him to not kill the great bull seal or his sea pups, for that was her selkie husband. The human man ignored this warning and killed the bull sea and sea pups. In retaliation, the selkies of the Faroe Islands gathered and cursed him and all men of the Kalsoy Island. When Kópakonan returned to the sea, she took another mate out of sorrow; from him she had Calder's forefather, Caspian.
William wandered too far from his clan and it resulted in him being taken in by a human mother. His selkie clan has never entered the sea by North Cornwall and therefore he has no idea where the selkie clan may be. Family Connections: Fairoways Are you open to Connections?: No Siren- Palpal-latok:
Family Crest: N/A Family History: In the South China Sea surrounding the Ilocos Region of the Philippines, there are only two known clans, with the Palpal-latok Clan being known to be less aggressive towards humans. The Chieftainess position is usually inherited from mother to daughter, although clan members may question this should the Chieftainess show incompetence in her leadership. For centuries, the Palpal-talok sirens kept to themselves, never interfering with human affairs and communicating with naturalists only occasionally in order to avoid wars. Sometimes the sirens would help lost sailors and injured soldiers during the war, but they often made sure to stay neutral and hidden so as to keep the peace in their village. The past few decades, however, have seen some conflicts within the Palpal-latok Clan: after Namnama's exile, Regta, the Chieftainess, was assassinated, along with the decoy for Namnama. Rea, Namnama's younger sister, is only a Chieftainess by name—power truly resides in the hands of the oracle-advisor Alad, who seems intent on submitting to a Chinese siren clan. Though Namnama is back and working hard to reclaim the clan from Alad, she must also get support from Rea, who is being brainwashed into thinking that Namnama is plotting against her.
The Palpal-latok Clan sirens are known for their enchanting beauty and singing voices. They are olive-skinned, and both men and women often have long dark hair and orange or red fish tails. They can shapeshift into human form when they are on land (or if there are humans nearby), and they use seashells in order to communicate (as human wizards use owls). Since they rarely if not ever mingle with humans, there are no known half-mermaids aside from Janina Wiwi. Though Janina has a mermaid form which she can transform to in the ocean, it is currently unknown if she can manage to eat and sleep as a mermaid.
Family Connections: Wiwi, Bulanadi Clan in the South China Sea Are you open to Connections?: PM first, please. Vampire- Kang:
Family Crest: N/A Family History: While Adrienne’s mother, Fai, was pregnant she was bitten by a vampire and fully turned. Baby Adrienne, protected in the womb, did not fully turn and was born as a half-vampire. While vampirism caused major issues for her mother as she was trying to adjust to her new situation, Adrienne does not suffer as much from the worst symptoms of it - and they often manifest in ways that seem rather human (easily sunburned and sunblinded, garlic and different metal allergies, raw meats can seem to hold back her hunger). The rest of Fai’s family, being magical folk themselves, rejected the two of them when they came to find out. They struggled financially for a while until Fai was able to get a stable job working in creature-human relations for the Ministry in Thailand - which turned their whole situation around and allowed them to live very comfortably for almost all of the rest of Adrienne’s schooling. However, a dispute that had been building between certain creature-rights organizations and opponents in the Ministry erupted and left Adrienne’s mother irreversibly cursed. Since then, her physical state has been deteriorating greatly.
Family Connections: Adrienne’s father is Cody Ellingston, which she never knew until after her mother was cursed and became very ill. Other than that, she has no notable family connections, among wixen, muggle, or creature alike. Are you open to Connections?: I’m not really sure what this would entail, but sure.
- Kovak:
Surname: Kovak Family Crest: N/A Family History: Nathan comes from a long line of vampires, however, unlike the rest, he's only half. Despite the fact that vampires all over the world have tried to keep their bloodlines pure, the breed began to intermingle with humans creating half-breeds. When the Wizarding wars broke out, the Vampires stayed hidden, far beneath the ground. It was because of the War, their blood began to mix with Wizard blood. Wizards seeked shelter among them, thus resulting in relationships, pregnancies and transformations. Nathan, like many others, was born half Wizard, half Vampire. Usually, the coven killed half-breeds, however, it's become such a normality, that by the time Mindy, his mother, was born, it was acceptable. Nathan looks no different than a regular human being, except for his inability to be around certain foods and silver. Despite being dark-skinned, the sun burns him easily as does bright light. He has learned to accept who he is and he plans to teach his daughter about who she is as well. Family Connections: No notable ones. Are you open to Connections?: Yes
- Leroux:
Family Crest: A white rose dripping with blood. Family History: The Leroux clan started with an incredibly persuasive vampire by the name of Ange Leroux. Ange Leroux was the new identity of a French peasant in the 1790s, a man suddenly made powerful after being turned into a vampire by a thrall who had escaped from another clan. As 'The Red Angel', he was feared by the aristocrats who were being imprisoned and prepared for Madame Guillotine. It was even said that the guillotine was a kinder way to die than to be 'kissed' on the neck by the Red Angel. Of course, terrorising the aristocrats got boring after awhile. Tired of Paris, Ange Leroux travelled all over the world, handpicking clan members who were all bloodthirsty and socio/psychopathic in their own ways. Ange Leroux then built a clan system that would be followed by other underworld clans, in which he is considered the King. As the King, Ange Leroux had 'children', who were allowed to have human familiars (humans who were promised vampirism after a certain amount of servitude). Ange Leroux also began to keep vampire thralls, which were essentially mind-controlled slaves who did the dirty jobs for the vampire clans. Keeping thralls was quite popular from the ancient times until the end of the Second World War, when the Ministry of Magic decreed thrall-keeping and slavery to be illegal. The Leroux Clan were allied with underworld families working for the Axis powers, as they captured quite a few humans (both wizards and muggles) and blackmailed them for connections from the 1900s to the 1940s. When the Axis powers lost the Second World War, the Leroux Clan had to go in hiding, and the chaos that followed allowed for some thralls to escape their masters. One such thrall now goes by the name Carmilla Fürstenberg. Though vampires do not have the ability to track the whereabouts of their sired, there is a blood connection that allows them to sense a sire or sired's presence. This is bad news for Carmilla, since there are rumours of the Leroux Clan currently establishing themselves as a malevolent presence in London. Family Connections: Di Pisa (see Carmilla's history) Are you open to Connections?: PM first, please. Veela- Devaux (Labelle):
Family Crest: N/A Family History: Marcelline Devaux (Cerise’s maternal grandmother) was born Marcelline Labelle. Marcelline is a full-blooded Veela. The Labelle’s are widely known Veelas – their ancestry can be traced to the very beginning. The Labelle’s have claimed neutrality in the face of every war they have encountered, though somehow they tend to become very close with the victors. Cerise’s mother, Pascale Devaux, was a half Veela due to Marcelline marrying a wizard by the name of Aldric Devaux (Marcelline was then disowned). Pascale had a romance with a muggle man from England, which resulted in Cerise: a halfblood, quarter Veela, witch. Family Connections: Pascale Devaux was an only child, as was Cerise. Marcelline Devaux’s family stopped acknowledging her after she married Aldric, so there are no connections left to the Labelle’s. Aldric’s family never knew about Marcelline being a Veela, as she had started using the name Marcelline Dubois. Aldric’s older brother, Cyril, had a few suspicions about Marcelline, but never voiced them directly. Are you open to Connections?: Connections would probably be unlikely, but I am open to ideas!
- Sandoval:
Family Crest: N/A Family History: Since far before the Hogwarts battle, there lived an American based family - the Grays - of Veelas. Hiding out during the rein of Voldermort, they chose no side, instead focusing on their own survival. After the war was over and good won, they emerged to mingle with the winning crowd, intending on saving face; with their charming ways, they attracted many a suitor, and the females went on to mate with both Veela and non - there are rumours of muggle marriages, but none have ever been confirmed. When Cheryl Gray (who was a result of a two mixed marriages, and as such only was partially Veela blood) attended Salem, she met and fell in love with a rich half-blood - Dustin Sandoval. Going against her grandmother's wishes, she decided to pursue a relationship, and the two rushed a marriage; at the age of 20, she bore a child: Janique Sandoval. Since only her great grandmother was a pure Veela, Jani only had roughly a quarter of Veela blood, which makes her unusually beautiful, but not so much as to attract every passing person. When Janique was 9, Dustin left the family, leaving Cheryl to take care of Janique alone. As soon as Jani turned of age, Cheryl, too, left. Not bothering to change her last name, Jani keeps her parents' departure a secret from almost everyone.
Family Connections: None that Janique can claim to have. She doesn't know the whereabouts of both her parents, nor does she wish to find out. Both sides of grandparents do not acknowledge her existence, but Janique doesn't really care. Family is mostly out of the question for her; she has nobody who is blood related to her that she can claim to know. Are you open to Connections?: Most likely no, because of the complicated background of both parents. However, as the story of both parents after they left is unknown, there may be possibilities on the mother's side; if you have any ideas or wish to ask me questions, drop me a PM and maybe we could work something out.
- Wilde:
Family Crest: A huge red dragon coiled around a white rose. Family History: 300 years ago, there was a family with the name Dragonstone. The entire family were Veelas and their policy was to never marry anyone who wasn't a Veela. This tradition lasted for 260 years, before a woman called Darcy Morstan fell in love with a man called John Wilde. This was the first break away from the family line consisting of only Veelas. John Wilde was a pureblood, and a metamorphmagus, so when they had a child, she inherited her mother's looks and her father's magical abilities, the norm of any veela who married a wizard. Ariel is therefore half a Veela from a long line of veelas and she has inherited the metamorphmagus side. She looks like a normal human being, just exceptionally beautiful, but she often uses her metamorphmagus powers to shade her beauty. Family Connections: Family has disowned Darcy Morstan, so Ariel has no connection to her mother side. John Wilde's family is big, and Ariel has many cousins on that side, some of which are Metamorphmaguses. Are you open to Connections?: Not on Ariel's motherside, unless I decide that it wouldn't hurt for Ariel to have a sister or something. So, mostly no, but if you think of a foolproof way they could be related, then contact me! Werewolf- Williams:
Family Crest: N/A Family History: Humphrey's family history is not remarkable or unusual in any way, really. His mother was a pureblood witch named Janine, who despite the disdain from her family who chose to disown her after learning she married a muggle lived like anyone else. She worked as a Healer in St. Mungo's. The father, Gregory simply fell for a girl who he later found out was a witch, but that didn't scare him away from her in the slightest. Humphrey was an only child, and his father had no family; so, aside from relations on his mother's side who refused to acknowledge his existence all he'd had were his parents. At the age of five, a vicious werewolf attacked their home. Humphrey's first real memories are of the attack, and he remembers watching his parents get ripped apart by the beast. Thinking he was next, the young boy had tried to run but was run down and bitten three times. One bite was on the left side of his chest, a second just above the hip on the left, and the third and final bite was on his right thigh. Eventually somebody heard the commotion and found the boy lying in his own blood. He was rushed to St. Mungo's and ended up surviving, though forever changed and cursed to live the life of a werewolf. Family Connections: (His Grandmother and Grandfather on his mother's side though they don't speak to him. Named Christina and Harold Saban. Also his Aunt Matilda, mother's side as well. Also refuses to acknowledge him as a member of her family or contact him in any way.) Are you open to Connections?: (No connections in the family sense, but if anybody can think of another way they might be then sure.)
