| An overpowering conglomerate of odors seemed to pour out of the shop door as Aurelia walked in from the street. At least one bit of the mixture made her throat feel ticklish, but she figured she'd have to get used to it. One potions class on a roster was going to be much different than a whole slew of them. Now I know why the Brits like tea so much, she thought to herself.
Making her way around the store and through the aisles, she made sure to grab a little basket from the stack at the door. She'd grabbed a few of her texts earlier in the week, and was hoping to stock up on supplies for the beginning potions. Even if they weren't covered in class, she may as well get in the practice.
Her soft soled, forest green converse barely made a sound on the stone floor. Eyes roaming amid the ingredients, she picked up a jar of Dragonfly Thoraxes and Black Beetle Eyes. Honestly, they freaked her out a tiny bit, but she knew that when handling them, she could always wear gloves. Sometimes that was even better, seeing as how she couldn't transfer anything unwanted onto them.
Scooting on over a row, her "eek" radar settled down a little bit. Grabbing a couple jars of Infusion of Wormwood, she figured it would be common enough to stock up on. While some people may find the task of stocking up on ingredients tedious and boring, Aurelia found it quite enjoyable. Humming to herself, she started imaging, one day, having her own little potions lab in her flat. Or house. Who knew!

| Melody walked into the store, nearly blown back by the mix of odors that filled the shop. It had been a while since she had stocked up on potions ingredients and while the professors gave the students everything they needed for the potions it was nice to gather some ingredients herself. There was something calm and nice about looking around and gathering specific ingredients. She had been considering expermenting a bit with some potions for a while now.
"Oh, hello," Melody said when she noticed someone else was in the shop. She quickly figured out that she didn't know the woman but she was around her age and could be from Merlin's Academy as well. |

| After a while, Aurelia found herself in the corner where most of the more ordinary ingredients were located. The "Muggle" section, as it were. She'd seen more than a few purebloods snub their nose at this area of shops, but she was all too familiar with the lavender and peppermint scents wafting through the area.
Picking up a bottle labeled Rose Oil, she popped the cork on the small phial and brought it to her nose. It was a faint smell, but one that always made her think of rain water and purified oxygen. Cliche, to have roses as your favorite flower, but she didn't much care what others thought. She was appreciative of the wizarding techniques used on the petals, as they cut the cost on the product.
A soft voice sounded behind Aurelia, one she hadn't expected, spoke in greeting. Turning, a easy smile automatically fell into place as she took in the short pixie cut on the girl.
"Hi," she chirped. Setting the small pink liquid into her basket, she was glad for the small conversation. "It's a great day for stocking up, eh?" |

| "Yeah, it really is," Melody said, smiling as she inhaled the smell of lavenders and peppermint. The strong amount of smells Apotecaries produced took some getting used to and the muggle section seemed light compared to when she had first walked into the shop.
She took in the woman in front of her, taking in her features for future use and figuring out whether or not they had met before. She looked around her age but Melody didn't think she had seen her around before. Melody glanced briefly at the bottle the woman had taken before saying "I'm Melody by the way."
Rose Oil, she thought. Good to get that fresh. Could be a new potions student. |
