Miles comes from a muggle family, when was about the age of 8 he started displaying his magic abilities. His parents were thrilled, and very proud to call him their son, however some weeks later a group of wizards and witches who had hated all muggles and would randomly attack them targeted the Bloxam household. Miles's parents try to fight against them, but to no avail. As for the struggle resulted in the death of both his parents.

Miles was sent to live with career obsessed aunty in London. She had very little time for him, and didn't care much for children. So Miles spent much of his time reading in his room. When he was invited to Hogwarts his Aunty was pleased, mainly because this meant he wouldn't be around as much. Miles didn't want to go as for he had a dislike for magic after his parents accident, but he reluctantly went.
