Cressida comes from a large Halfblood family, she is one of seven children. While her family is large they are not particularly wealthy, often living pay cheque to pay cheque. This is where Cressida's lust for money first developed.

When she was at Hogwarts, she had only a few friends due to the fact that she didn't trust that many people, these trust issues would soon cement themselves in Cressida's adult life. She often was known for being abit of a grifter, in that she would always come up with cunning scams to take people's money or belongings.

When she graduated from Hogwarts her grades were quite average for most of her classes except for Arithmancy and Transfiguration, in which she received an Outstanding. Cressida when first seeing the results was pretty emotionally neural, all this piece of paper stated was that she loved numbers, given the fact for her lust for money.

It wasn't until a crow arrived with a letter stating she had been invited to Merlin's Academy of Excellence, to major in Curse Breaking. Cressida knew this was a dangerous profession, the treasure bonus a person received from each mission was well worth potential death. After completing her studies, she applied for a job within Gringotts, as money as her driving force she excelled through each tomb and crypt bringing the goblins the valuable treasure, after she took her cut of course and within a couple of years she was titled Curse Breaker Mentor for apprentice Curse Breakers.
