More Information
As a child, Grace was very gentle and kind like her name. She enjoyed singing, and dancing, and playing with animals. She was very optimistic, and into fairytales. She believed in happily ever after’s, and playing pretend. But things changed when her parents got a divorce at the age of 7. Right before she were to find out that she was different then all the other muggle children she made friends with.
During the brutal divorce, Grace was forced to choose between her loving, gentle, and muggle mother, and her abusive, closet drunk, and pureblooded wizard father. The choice was obvious. Grace gave her opinion to the judge, and the judge went with it, after hearing all sides to the story. The only problem with this, was that Grace’s father NEVER, in the twenty years that her parents were married, told her mother that he was magical, and that Grace could possess such powers. So, when Grace started making things explode, and making things move when she was on the other side of the room, her mother thought that Grace was insane.
But, she wrote to Grace’s dad and informed him on what was happening, and said that she was going to send Grace to be with him because she couldn’t handle the craziness, when he told her the truth. That she was magical. Her mother accepted that Grace was different, but was disappointed that she was more like her father, than her. Her father drunkenly told her about a school that he went to that she could go to learn how to control her magic. And it was then at the age of 11 on March 3, Grace received her letter to attend Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry.
At the sorting ceremony, Grace was sorted into Hufflepuff. Which led to total abandonment from her Pureblooded Slytherin father. With that, Grace had trust issues, and kept to herself through most of her years. She found that she liked to speak with animals more than humans, and was considered “weird.” She was bullied throughout most of her years at Hogwarts because of this. She found it difficult to make friends, and her relationship with her mother became even more strained because all Grace could talk about was school, and her mother didn’t like to hear about it because it reminded her of her ex-husband.
In her fifth year, Grace was made Prefect, she aced pretty much all of her OWLs, because all she did was spend her time in the library studying, and doing her patrols. She was made fun of worse for being “teacher’s pet” for several different classes where she volunteered to be an aid. And by her sixth year, she had officially socially excluded herself from her classmates. It was in her seventh year, she decided to become more socially involved as she was tired of being alone all the time. She stupidly decided to attend a Quidditch party after Hufflepuff had surprisingly won a match. She got drunk, and woke up naked on a couch the next morning, with no memory of what had happened.
Nine months later, after graduation, and after she had accepted her Merlin’s Academy letter, she had a baby girl whom she named Anastasia. She tried to raise Ana and go to school by herself, but found that it was almost impossible. She contacted her mother, to help her in this situation, and surprisingly her mother wanted to help. Her mother suggested adoption. Grace liked the idea of never having to deal with being a single mother, as she resented the baby as it was born by a forceful situation. She gave the baby to a happily married couple whom she knew would treat, and raise Ana right.
Grace never got into any serious relationships, out of fear of what happened the night Ana was conceived. She feared that men would shun her due to the fact that she gave up her own flesh and blood for adoption. She had a few on and off relationships, and never really made any friends. Except, her relationship with her mother. It grew stronger than ever when Ana was given up. Grace believes that was the only good thing that came out of her terrible situation.
With the rest of her time, Grace spent more time on her education, and decided that she loved Merlin Academy so much, she wanted to teach there. She knew she needed more education than she did, so after her degree was finished at Merlin, she went onto muggle schools, and broadened her education by receiving her master’s in Education. And now, Grace is back at Merlin, ready to live her dream as a professor at a school she loves.
