| Violet was finally at university. Finally somewhere that had a chance at challenging her intellect, and perhaps, though an extremely slim chance, she'd find people who she would actually like to be around. But yes, that was so slim it was nearly impossible.
She'd had a hard time choosing her major, it had been a tie between Curse Breaking and Dragon Training. Both were quite dangerous, and thrilling and awesome. But she had decided to first try Dragon Training, and she supposed if she really wanted Curse Breaking, she could go back after this course was finished. That was the great thing about university, it allowed for so much choice.
She found her usual bout of boredom come about at around four p.m, once she had finished unpacking her things. So, as per usual, she decided to wander about, perhaps get her bearings, to find where she's have to go for classes and such.
Violet strolled through the grounds, and found them rather typical, as she had expected. Nothing particularly thrilling or exciting. But then she came across a big, metal building, with a sign that read Dragon Stables, and that was so tempting that it almost wasn't fair.
Violet walked over to the door, and with a quick glance about, to see no one in particular paying any attention to her, she jiggled at the handle. Upon finding it locked, she discreetly drew her wand, murmuring a soft 'Alohomora', to see if that would work. |

| The morning had started perfectly, with good weather for a swim, and Codey had done just that, going for a dip in the cool waters of the ocean. A warm shower and a change of clothes later, and the man had apparated to the grounds of the University; the sun hadn't risen yet, but he was already starting work, checking on his dragons. Most of them had already laid eggs, and now were much easier to deal with. After making sure they were all comfortable, he left, making sure to magically lock the doors behind him, so that not even a spell could unlock it.
Codey was just settling into his office for the morning when the little dragon figurine on his desk - of an Opaleye - gave a piercing roar and the man immediately jumped up. He had, much earlier, placed charms on his dragon stable door so that if anyone who wasn't authorize tried to enter, he would know. Turning on the spot he apparated to a spot just behind the barn and briskly walked over.
Standing outside, holding her wand, was a young witch, whom he assumed to be one of his future students. Well, isn't that interesting? he thought, a smirk appearing. Clearing his throat, he stepped into view. "Excuse me, Miss. Those doors are locked for a reason. If you want to see the dragons, it would be much easier to ask," he said calmly, looking down at her with a neutral expression. |

| She'd half-expected alohomora to not work. Though it was worth a try, the charm worked for most things. But then again, dragons would require much more to keep them in. Another thought popped into her head, to use 'Bombarda', far less subtle, and it would leave a noticeable dent, but she could try and cover that up when she left. She had her wand aimed, and the spell at her lips when she heard a man clear his throat.
"Excuse me, Miss. Those doors are locked for a reason. If you want to see the dragons, it would be much easier to ask,"
She turned to look at him, seeing that he must be the Dragon Teacher. Why else would he have any business at the stables? Stowing her wand away, she automatically crossed her arms, a habit of hers "Alright," she said calmly "Can I see the dragons then?" she asked bluntly. |

| Watching the witch carefully, Codey already began to read her. Whoever she was, she clearly knew what she wanted, and didn't stop at anything to get it. Dangerous in some, for others, it was a saving grace, a means of accomplishing what others said wasn't possible. He had never seen it before in anyone other than himself, although the blonde also seemed to use it in ways that were not necessarily good. Nevertheless, she intrigued him.
As the question came his way, Codey raised an eyebrow, slipping his hands into his pockets. Interesting. That was the only thing he knew to describe her in that moment, and already he wanted to know more about her - what made her tick, what made the witch who she was.
Letting a few seconds pass while he pretended to consider it - he already knew his answer - Codey finally broke into a small smirk. How about a game? he asked her internally, and then, slowly, said, "And if I said no?" Looking her directly in the eyes, he continued with, "My dragons are not beasts on display at a zoo. If you wish to ogle, I suggest you do that somewhere else." |
