More Information
A child of two generally optimistic muggleborns, Teagan was raised in a loving, and rather adventurous, home. Her parents, both from England, were Cursebreakers who had moved to Egypt for work. Growing up on dig sites and in old crypts was an absolute thrill for the young witch. Her parents instilled in her a sense of wonder and curiosity, while tempering it with a healthy respect for the power and danger that existed in such places. Her mother fell victim to an unknown curse on one such dig, and passed away suddenly when Teagan was only nine. Stricken with grief, her father was never the same man again, and could not bare to live in the land he'd come to know as his home without the woman he loved.
Moving back to London, to their ancestral home which had previously been a vacation spot, Teagan was only too glad when she received her letter to Hogwarts. It meant time away from her father, who was a ghost of himself, and a new adventure. An only child, until then she hadn't spent much time around children her own age. But school was not all that she had hoped. The spirited young witch was met with structure and discipline like she had never known, and her father simply instructed her to follow the orders given to her. She did so, but never without wondering what life would have been like, had she stayed in Egypt.
Through the years at school, she had few friends, and no one that she really felt she could connect with. So, she waited patiently for the day that she could leave, wanted to get out and see the world for herself. But the world, it seemed, was not how she imagined it. After graduation, she interned as a Cursebreaker, wanting to follow in her parents footsteps. The assignments, though, soon grew tiresome, and life on the road was not what she had planned on. After three years, she received an owl from Headmaster Ashworth, asking her to return to Hogwarts immediately to fill the position teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. The previous holder had dabbled in some nasty spells and had to vacate her spot rather suddenly. Since it was the subject she had excelled in most, Teagan happily took the job, hoping for something new in her life.
After a few years, she similarly fell into the position of Head of Gryffindor. This lead, then, to her becoming Deputy. While some questioned her appointment to such a position at a young age, she took it as a challenge.
