Looks
- image:
Hair style: Brown. Brushed forward and messy when it’s grown out. When trimmed, it’s brushed out of his eyes or styled off his forehead.
Body type: Around 5’11”. Underweight (actual measurement fluctuates a lot). Has several decent sized spots of hyperpigmented skin along his back / shoulders, one of which is visible on the right side of his neck. A peculiarly shaped scar around his left ankle and halfway up his calf.
Dress sense: Cheap, worn thrift and oversized jackets. (Sometimes wishes he had the money for some actual fashion sense...or at least a nice pair of jeans).
Personality
Likes: Early morning / late night walks, gardens, watching quidditch, libraries, learning new things (especially if it’s magical), healing, polaroid photography, his paternal grandmother.
Dislikes: Loud noises, flying, lakes and other similar bodies of water (rather...unfortunate considering the placement of Slytherin common room), naps, small children, Grindylows, Banshee, talking about his personal life, his father, himself.
Quirks: He tends to talk a lot and/or very quickly if he gets too excited. Indecisive with most things, but when he does have his mind set on something he is horribly stubborn. Picks at the skin around his fingernails (not that bad unless very stressed). Has a somewhat thick Irish accent that he often tries to cover up (more obvious when he's upset or excited).
Strengths: Excellent listener and memory. Fairly quick to grasp new concepts (or spend as much time as needed in order to fully understand something). Potions. Very patient.
Flaws/Weaknesses: Sensitive and overly concerned about how others perceive him due to a great desire to fit in. Definitely does not get enough sleep.
More Information
Born and raised in one of the poorer areas of Belfast, Parker’s childhood was a difficult one. His parents shared a rocky, abusive marriage that they thought they could save by having a child. Since they both worked demanding full time jobs, much of Parker’s time was spent watching old television shows with his elderly neighbor or hiding from a group of kids in his neighborhood that bullied him mercilessly. Parker didn’t exhibit many obvious signs of magic, and when he got his acceptance letter to Hogwarts his mother took it very hard because of her strong religious faith.
Adjustment to the magical world was difficult, but he did eventually find a place for himself amongst a small group of friends from the other houses. In the beginning, he didn’t feel like he much belonged in Slytherin and didn’t get along with some of the older kids in his house. During Parker’s third year at school, his father lost his job and fell into patterns of severe alcoholism which led to getting a divorce by the end of fourth year. Despite his mother picking up a second job and Parker’s paternal grandmother offering to help, their financial situation worsened, causing his mother’s mental health to deteriorate while she fell back heavily on her religion for strength.
Struggling to cope, Parker had a particularly difficult time navigating through fifth year. His grades slipped as he distanced himself from his old friends, becoming more involved with a group of trouble-making Slytherins. He briefly dated a seventh year girl from the group for a few weeks as well as a sixth year boy for a couple months before having a messy fallout with the whole group. They spread nasty rumours and went out of their ways to make life more difficult for him, but Parker’s old friends made sure to be there for him and help him get things back on track.
A rough school year led into an even worse summer spent with his fanatic, mentally ill mother. She used her faith to justify abusing Parker, believing she would be able to save him from practicing magic and returning to school. This went on until just before the start of sixth year, when the Ministry was forced to place Parker under the care of his paternal grandmother while his mother was sent to be cared for in a muggle mental health facility.
The next two school years he spent entirely focused on his studies, filled with a strong desire to prove himself by reaching the top of his class. His interests in potioneering and healing developed into a passion. He didn’t know what specific area he wanted to specialize in, but he knew without a doubt he wanted to become a healer in order to help others and be able to impact their lives positively. Parker was beyond shocked come the end of his seventh year to receive the prestigious invitation to Merlin’s Academy - inspired more than ever to work towards great things.

Why you chose your major: “Everyone always says they want to become healer to help people. That’s true for me too, but it’s also something so much more than that. As a healer you have a profound impact on so many lives, on the community. It’s making a difference in something so much bigger than myself and I feel like there’s real purpose in that.”
