Aria was the only child of Cesar and Lilian Rose. She was born prematurely, two weeks before she was due. And since then, she was shielded from everything. She was a frail child, easily getting sick, thus she was protected from surrounded by other children. The older she got, she found herself finding comfort in flowers. Plants were something that calmed her down, soothed her and became her best friends. It seemed that when her immune system began to strengthen, she was allowed to socialize with others, to the joy of her parents and to the nervousness of her.
Still, she was a happy child, and quickly found herself jumping into social norms. She made one friend, his name was James. He was such a sweetheart and appreciated her having a love of flowers. It was only one day when they were bullied by an older year that she found out she was different. It was the moment that he pushed James into the bushes and stepped all over the flowers that she began to scream. The screaming caused him to be pushed away and then she was deemed a freak, even by her beloved James.
Quickly she scooted back to being a shyer girl, and it was until her eleventh year of birth she found how different she was. One little letter explained how different she was and that there was a reason for it. Being a witch was something that brought a shift in her relationship with her parents. For one thing they didn’t understand what it meant, in fact it freaked them out. But she found an escape in Hogwarts. Hufflepuff was her house, and she had a love of potions and herbology. With each year, she found more and more of an identity within the Wizarding world.
She found love in her third year; his name was Craig and he was a Scottish Ravenclaw and they found love through their mutual love of books. Their relationship ran strong throughout all of Hogwarts and once they graduated, they found themselves moving in together. Moving back to Madrid, they both enjoyed the city life, with her being forced to travel back and forth from Merlin’s Academy to Madrid. She took advantage and graduating in Healing at Merlin, and a RN in the muggle world. Immediately after graduating she took a job at Santo Domingo’s Wizarding Hospital of Madrid. She was twenty-one when she realized that they had no real plans of the future. Craig was more interested in his Auror work, and she found her career bringing her more joy than Craig actually did.
Still, too scared to leave him, she waited it out, a bit too shy to really call out the trouble that she felt in that relationship. It was until she turned twenty-five that she realized that they were truly going nowhere. He had made no mention about marriage and she knew that if she was asked she would foolishly say yes. That was the last strike; at the job offer of teaching Healing at Merlin’s Academy she took it. With a kiss on Craig’s forehead, she knew that she could never be brave enough to actually say anything. Writing a letter she spoke about why she was leaving and in the middle of the night, she took all that was hers, that was in just a box of books and a suitcase full of clothes and she was off.
She never realized how much of a good squirrel she was with savings until she looked at her account. Being good on her promise to start anew she bought a flat near the ocean, taking advantage of the area and the large patio to be able to put her pots and make a life for herself away from Craig and away from the people that didn’t understand her.
